Communities across Exeter and Crediton will come together on Tuesday 11 November to mark Armistice Day and remember those who lost their lives in conflict.
In Exeter, an Armistice Day service will be held at Exeter Cathedral from 10:45am. Members of the public are invited to attend for prayers and a two-minute silence at 11am.
In nearby Crediton, a ceremony will take place at the War Memorial on Union Road. The event begins at approximately 10.50am, with the two-minute silence at 11am marking the anniversary of the end of the First World War.
Local representatives from Crediton Town Council, the Royal British Legion, and other organisations will lead the ceremony, while a member of the Crediton Town Band will signal the start and end of the silence.
Armistice Day provides an opportunity for reflection on the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces, past and present. Those unable to attend in person are encouraged to pause wherever they are at 11am to observe the national moment of remembrance.
