Exeter is set for a mixed weekend of autumn weather as November arrives, according to the latest forecast from the Met Office. Residents can expect blustery winds, scattered showers, and occasional bright spells as low pressure systems continue to dominate.

Today (Friday 31 October) will bring a blend of sunshine and showers, some of which could turn heavy with the chance of hail. Winds will remain gusty, with temperatures hovering around 15–16°C.

Saturday looks set to be unsettled, with showers and longer spells of rain likely, particularly into the afternoon when breezy conditions could pick up again across the city and surrounding areas.

Sunday offers the best chance for drier weather, with sunshine breaking through at times, although isolated showers can’t be ruled out. It’s expected to be the calmest day of the weekend before more rain moves in early next week.

Looking ahead, the Met Office says the changeable pattern will continue into the first week of November, bringing wet and windy spells interspersed with brighter breaks, which is typical for this time of year.

A Met Office spokesperson added: "The start of November brings typical autumnal conditions to Exeter, with a mix of showers, brisk winds, and occasional sunshine. While Sunday may offer the best chance for drier weather, the overall theme remains changeable.”

Residents are advised to check the latest Exeter forecast and any weather warnings on the Met Office website or social media channels before making weekend plans.
