LIVE: Multi-vehicle collision on A38 near Exeter causing long delays

Drivers are facing long delays on the A38 near Exeter this morning after a collision involving four vehicles on Haldon Hill.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed to Exeter Today at 8.45am that one person has reported minor injuries.

Emergency services remain at the scene, and traffic is heavy.

9am - National Highways shares on social media: All lanes are now OPEN on the #A38 eastbound between the #A379 (Kennford) and the #M5/#A30 (Exminster). Please allow extra time whilst traffic flow returns to normal. 

08:45 – Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving four vehicles on the northbound carriageway of the A38 on Haldon Hill near Exeter, at around 7.40am today, Wednesday 24 September. Minor injuries have been reported for one person. Emergency services are at the scene.”

08:41 – National Highways said: “There are long delays on the #A38 eastbound between the #A379 (Kennford) and the #M5 / #A30 (Exminster). This is due to a multi-vehicle collision. Emergency services are in attendance with National Highways traffic officers assisting with traffic management.”

07:40 – Police first received reports of a four-vehicle collision on the northbound carriageway of the A38 at Haldon Hill.
