A community walk along the River Exe later this month will give Exeter residents who have lost loved ones to cancer a chance to connect in a supportive and relaxed environment.
The event, organised by national bereavement charity The Loss Foundation, is open to adults aged 18 and over.
It takes place on Saturday 27 September from 2pm to 3.30pm, starting and finishing at Exeter St David’s railway station.

Participants will follow a gentle 1.5-hour route along the river, designed to encourage conversation and reflection.
The walk will be hosted by volunteer James, who became involved with The Loss Foundation after losing both of his parents in less than a year.
He said: "I was struggling with my grief and hadn't been able to find much support. Thankfully, TLF was incredibly supportive. After attending their events, I got in touch to see if I could contribute.
Since then, I have hosted several of their Walk and Talk events, where a group of people can spend some time in nature and have a safe space to talk about their grief."
Group sizes are deliberately kept small, with around 10 walkers, to make it easier for people to feel comfortable sharing their experiences. Previous participants have praised the format for its intimacy and support.
Organisers stress that the event is not about fitness or speed but about creating a safe and welcoming space. There is no pressure to talk more than participants feel comfortable, and many groups continue their conversations afterwards over a coffee.
Spaces are limited, so advance booking is encouraged. Pets and children cannot join the walk, though participants may bring a guest if arranged beforehand.
