Exeter and Devon fans excited as Lewis Capaldi announces summer 2026 live outdoor concert at Powderham Castle

Lewis Capaldi confirms 2023 Irish gig

Lewis Capaldi will perform at Powderham Castle near Exeter, Devon, in summer 2026

Exeter is preparing for one of its biggest live music events after Lewis Capaldi was confirmed to headline Powderham Castle in summer 2026.

The announcement has sparked excitement among local fans, many of whom say they are “can’t wait” to see the chart-topping singer perform close to home.

The chart-topping singer will follow a sold-out 17-date UK arena tour, which has seen him play to more than 200,000 fans. His UK and Irish headline shows next summer include TK Maxx presents Live at Powderham on Sunday 28 June 2026.

Hosting Lewis Capaldi marks another cultural milestone for Exeter, putting the city firmly on the map for A-list performances and helping it compete with nearby destinations like Bristol and Plymouth.

Powderham Castle has already welcomed global stars including Elton John, Coldplay, Michael Bublé, and Little Mix, alongside chart favourites such as Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Duran Duran, McFly, Bastille and Olly Murs.

Each show has drawn in thousands of visitors, boosting Exeter’s reputation as a live music destination and demonstrating that the city can attract performers who might otherwise bypass Devon for larger venues.

Fans across Exeter and Devon have already shared their excitement at the news. With some saying that they have seen him perform before at Glastonbury and Westpoint in Exeter, where he "was amazing" and "can't wait".

Only six miles away from Exeter, Powderham Castle’s location makes it accessible for concertgoers by car, train or bus, with Starcross station offering a nearby rail connection.

Organisers plan to work with Devon County Council on temporary parking, shuttle services and traffic management, following previous events that caused road delays for residents and visitors.

For Exeter, the gig represents both a cultural milestone and an economic opportunity, putting the city firmly on the map for major live music and drawing attention to the wider region.
