The next few days will see plenty of showers
The summer holidays may be drawing to a close, and so too is the sunshine, with Exeter set for a damp and breezy start to the new school term.
Today (Sunday August 31) will bring a mix of cloud and sunshine, but showers are likely to drift in through during the afternoon, accompanied by blustery winds. Temperatures should reach around 20 °C, dropping to 13 °C overnight.
Monday looks little different, with sunny intervals mixed with showers and a breeze, peaking at 19 °C.
As pupils head back to class, the skies aren’t offering much cheer. Tuesday is forecast to be cloudy with showers throughout the day, highs of 18 °C. Wednesday will start wet before brightening with some sunshine later, reaching 18 °C again.
By Thursday, more cloud and patchy showers are expected, though temperatures may lift slightly to around 20 °C before dropping to a cool 10 °C at night.
So while children across the city prepare to swap beaches and parks for classrooms, Exeter residents will also need to swap the sun cream for umbrellas.
