Three teenagers have been arrested

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fire destroyed a Scout Hut in Exmouth in what officers believe was a deliberate act.

Emergency services were called to Imperial Road at around 5.10pm on Monday 11 August following reports of a blaze. The building was completely destroyed and the incident is being treated as suspected arson.

Three teenagers – a boy and a girl from Exmouth and a boy from Exeter – have been arrested on suspicion of arson and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time, or who may have dashcam footage, to come forward.

Information can be passed to police via the Devon & Cornwall Police website or by calling 101, quoting reference 50250208284. Alternatively, details can be shared anonymously with Crimestoppers online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555111.
