Two Devon coast wildflower walks have been named among UK’s best for 2025

Seaton to Beer Head and Exmouth to Sidmouth — have been named among the top wildflower walks in the UK for 2025, according to new research by Flying Flowers.

With Google searches for wildflower walks up 300% in the past year, many people are seeking out quiet, floral walking routes to enjoy nature in full bloom.

Flying Flowers analysed data from AllTrails and TripAdvisor to uncover the UK’s most highly rated but lesser-known wildflower routes.

The Seaton to Beer Head trail was ranked fourth overall. Following a 10.8 km stretch of the Jurassic Coast, the route showcases chalk cliffs, coastal grasslands, and a wide range of wildflowers including kidney-vetch, bird’s-foot trefoil, yellow-wort, and cow parsley.

Also making the top ten is the Exmouth to Sidmouth section of the South West Coast Path, taking seventh place. This 20.4 km point-to-point coastal walk is the longest wildflower trail to feature in the rankings and offers views of vibrant coastal flora such as corky-fruited water-dropwort, sea pink (thrift), and common mallow.

Sandra Varley, Head of Flying Flowers, said: "In the busy summer months, you may not have a trail completely to yourself, but choosing lesser-reviewed, highly rated routes like these gives you a better chance of enjoying wildflower walks without the crowds. Peak bloom tends to be between April and August, making now the perfect time to explore."

She also recommends making use of smartphone technology when out on the trail:
"On iPhones, simply take a picture and swipe up on the image to get instant wildflower ID info."

And for those who can’t get out to the coast this summer, Sandra adds:
"You can still enjoy nature’s beauty at home with a fresh bouquet delivered by post."
