Many took to the coast to cool off this weekend
Exeter is set to enjoy some much-needed relief from the recent heatwave, with temperatures dipping and showers on the way this week.
After several days of sweltering sunshine and sticky nights, the weather is finally set to ease off. The Met Office forecast for Exeter shows a gradual cooling trend from today (Monday) onwards, offering residents a welcome break from the summer heat.
Monday (15 July) will bring a mix of sun and showers, with highs of around 24°C. It’ll feel noticeably fresher, especially with a light breeze throughout the day.
By Tuesday, the change will be more apparent. Temperatures are forecast to drop to around 20°C, with cloudy spells and the chance of light rain in the afternoon. Winds will continue to keep things cool, particularly during the evening.
Midweek sees continued relief, with Wednesday expected to be mostly dry with some sunshine and highs of 21°C. Thursday is set to be slightly warmer at 24°C, though low cloud may keep things feeling mild.
Overnight temperatures will also drop, with lows expected between 13°C and 16°C — making for far more comfortable sleeping conditions than the previous week’s muggy nights.
