A car fire has caused major disruption near Cranbrook this evening, with traffic reportedly at a standstill between the town and Broadclyst.
Emergency services were called to London Road shortly before 5.20pm on Friday 13 June, where a vehicle was reported to be on fire near the main entrance to the town.
Firefighters are at the scene and the road has been closed in both directions. The first roundabout off London Road is also shut while crews respond.
The above photo was taken before the arrival of fire crews. Witnesses say the main entrance to Cranbrook and the first roundabout off London Road were quickly closed.
The road remains shut while police and firefighters deal with the incident. Nearby routes are heavily congested, and drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
