Exmouth murder suspects named

Four men are due to appear at Exeter Magistrates’ Court today (4 June) charged with murder following the death of a 24-year-old man in Exmouth.

Devon and Cornwall Police have named the individuals as:

  • Zac Davies, 23, of Hawthorn Grove, Exmouth

  • Dylan Chadwick, 23, of Cambourne Avenue, St Helens

  • Ben Mason, 23, of no fixed abode, Exmouth

  • Thomas Ward, 24, of Russell Walk, Exeter

All four have been charged with murder and will face court today.

The investigation began after police were called to Ashfield Close in Exmouth at around 12.45am on Saturday 31 May, following reports of an assault. A 24-year-old man was found in the garden of a property with a single stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three of the men had initially been arrested over the weekend, with a fourth taken into custody later. In addition, two other men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police have confirmed that those three have now been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Guy Biggar, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, previously thanked the community for their support and urged anyone with information or relevant footage to get in touch.

Officers remain in the area as part of the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the force website or by calling 101 and quoting crime reference 50250136873.
