Cowick Lane in Exeter is currently closed following a road traffic collision near the junction with Cowick Street, close to Franklyn Community Hospital.

The incident, which occurred this afternoon, has prompted a police response and a road closure in both directions. Traffic is currently being diverted, and drivers are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.

Devon and Cornwall Police are on site, and the exact details of the incident – including whether anyone has been injured – have not yet been confirmed.

Cowick Lane is a well-used commuter route, linking western residential areas such as St Thomas and Dunsford Road with the city centre via Cowick Street and the Exe Bridges.
