The paddling pools at Heavitree Pleasure Ground and the St Thomas Splash Pad will reopen on Friday 23 May, subject to final safety checks and pre-season maintenance.

The much-loved facilities, which are free to use and managed by Exeter City Council, have become a firm fixture of summer in the city for local families.

Cllr Ruth Williams, Lead Councillor for City Management, said staff were working hard to get the pools ready following a spell of unseasonably warm weather.

“I can’t wait to see these much-loved facilities open again,” she said. “Although the weather is unseasonably warm, we would ask people to remain patient whilst our staff get the facilities ready to be enjoyed over the summer.”

Council teams are currently carrying out essential maintenance and water safety checks to ensure both sites are clean, safe, and ready for public use.

The Heavitree and St Thomas sites have long been popular with families looking for fun, active ways to enjoy the sunshine without leaving the city.
