A free family ticket to the Devon County Show is being offered in a new competition launched by Devon County Council ahead of this year’s event, which runs from 15 to 17 May at Westpoint Arena near Exeter.
The giveaway, open until 1pm on Friday 9 May, offers entry for up to five people to one of the most popular fixtures in the Devon events calendar.
To enter, participants need to submit their name and email address online and agree to receive the council’s weekly ‘Connect Me’ newsletter.
The Devon County Show regularly attracts thousands of visitors with its mix of agriculture, local food, music, crafts and rural life. This year’s programme includes a brand-new Family Fun Zone, hands-on farming displays, and a full schedule of live music from Devon’s young performers.
Devon County Council will have several stands at the show, including their main base on Road 8 (Stand 225), where visitors can learn about council services including fostering, flood resilience, trading standards and more. Their Farmwise team will return with animals and activities on Road 9, while the Performance and Partnerships team will be showcasing skills support and business programmes on Avenue R (Stand 453).
One of the new features for 2025 is the Family Fun Zone – designed to keep children engaged with activities ranging from a climbing wall and circus skills to craft sessions and sports challenges.
Notably, Patrick the Shetland Pony – known locally as the ‘Mayor of Cockington’ – will make a special appearance on Saturday.
The winner of the competition will be contacted by email on Friday 9 May and will receive their digital ticket shortly afterwards.
Entry to the prize draw is free, and full terms and conditions are available on the council’s website.
The Devon County Show takes place from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 May 2025. Children under 15 go free on Saturday.
