Crediton man sentenced to nine years for sex offences as police launch manhunt for three others

Lukasz Grzywna, 30, of Upton Hellions, Crediton, was sentenced to nine years and eight months at Exeter Crown Court on Monday 14 April.

He will serve an additional three years on extended licence, and has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. A Sexual Harm Prevention Order will be in place upon his release.

Grzywna previously pleaded guilty to a total of 13 sexual offences including:

  • Five counts of voyeurism

  • Five counts of attempting to observe a person in a private act

  • One count of sexual assault

  • Trespassing with intent to commit a sexual act

  • Possession of a prohibited image of a child

He also admitted offering to supply a class B drug.

Grzywna was arrested in the early hours of Sunday 14 July 2024 after being disturbed in a child’s bedroom in Crediton. A search of his mobile phone uncovered video evidence and messages relating to the offences.

Detective Constable Becky Carvell said, “We welcome the sentence passed down today and my thoughts, as they have been throughout the investigation and court process, are with those affected by Lukasz Grzywna’s actions.

The victims and their families have shown great courage in supporting this prosecution.

We would encourage anyone who has been subject to similar behaviour to report it. You will be listened to, and you will be believed.”

Meanwhile, Karnya Mcray, 35, from Ottery St Mary, is wanted in connection with an assault. She is described as a white female, around 5ft 2ins tall, with long blond hair and links to the Exeter area.

If you see Mcray or know her whereabouts, contact police immediately on 999, quoting reference 50250088504.

Officers are also searching for Kieran Ross, 20, wanted in connection with a separate assault in Newton Abbot on Sunday 13 April.

Ross is described as a white male, around 5ft 10ins, slim build, with dark brown hair and possible facial hair. He is believed to have links to Newton Abbot, Torbay, and Kingsbridge.

Police are urging members of the public not to approach him. Instead, call 999 immediately, quoting log 166 of 13 April.

Also with links to South Devon and Exeter is Ryan Gent, 30, who is wanted in connection to reports of assault, threats to kill and breach of a court order.

Gent is described as being a medium build white male, who is approximately 5ft 7ins tall. He often has short, brown hair with a beard. 

Anyone who sees Gent is asked to not approach him but to call police on 999 immediately quoting 50250087899.
