Devon County Show is calling on photographers across the county to capture the essence of Devon for its first-ever official Devon County Show Calendar, set for release in 2026.
Twelve winning photographs will be selected to feature in the month-by-month calendar, with each image celebrating the county’s landscapes, wildlife, heritage, and culture.
Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or simply love snapping pictures of Devon’s beauty, this is your chance to see your work in print.
The theme for this year’s competition is ‘My Devon’, a deliberately open-ended brief designed to let photographers capture what the county means to them.
From the rolling hills of Exmoor to the rugged cliffs of the Jurassic Coast, the only requirement is that the image reflects the spirit and diversity of Devon.
Entries will be judged by two respected professional photographers:
Russell Sach, a freelance press photographer whose work has appeared in national publications including The Telegraph, The Times, and Mail on Sunday.
Steve Pope, a photojournalist with more than 35 years of experience covering Devon, currently working for Tindle News Devon.
The winning images will each feature in the 2026 Devon County Show Calendar, with the photographer credited. In addition, winners will receive:
Photographers can submit up to five images via email to competitions@dcshow.org before the deadline of Wednesday, 1 April 2025.
Full technical specifications for submissions can be found at devoncountyshow.co.uk/terms-and-conditions.
The twelve winning images will be announced on 22 April 2025.
So whether it’s a blanket of bluebells at Buckland Abbey, a dog bounding through the surf at Woolacombe, a skylark soaring over Dartmoor, or a picture-perfect Devon cream tea in Totnes, grab your camera and show off your Devon.
