Escot House
Art lovers and shoppers looking for something truly special this spring will find plenty to admire at a brand-new artisan craft fair taking place at Escot House.
The Artisan Spring Showcase is set to bring some of the finest creative talent from across the South West to the historic venue on Saturday, March 29.
Timed perfectly ahead of Mother’s Day, the fair will feature nearly 30 traders offering an array of handcrafted items, from jewellery and textiles to ceramics, glass, and even chilli-based products.
Organisers hope the event will not only provide a fantastic shopping opportunity but also highlight the wealth of artistic talent within East Devon and beyond.
The event is the brainchild of Gill Melly, founder of SilverRipples Jewellery, who saw an opportunity to create a dedicated local showcase for independent makers.
“We’re so lucky to have so many talented makers in the area, and I wanted to provide a new, very local opportunity for their work to be seen,” said Gill. “Escot House is the perfect venue, with its rich history and beautiful parkland setting.
“This is a great way to support small, independent creative businesses – and find something extra special for yourself or as a gift.”
Visitors can expect a diverse selection of artisan goods, with stalls offering handmade soaps, pottery, decorative artwork, glasswork, jewellery, and textiles, among other crafts.
Prices will cater to all budgets, making it an accessible event for those looking for a one-of-a-kind piece or an affordable, thoughtful present.
The full list of exhibitors includes well-known local names such as Soap Daze, Collingwood Crafts, TC Art, SilverRipples Jewellery, and many more. Most of the traders are based in East Devon, making this a truly regional celebration of craftsmanship.
Entry to the Artisan Spring Showcase is completely free, and visitors can also enjoy refreshments prepared by Escot’s in-house catering team.
Expect a tempting selection of homemade cakes, biscuits, savoury snacks, and hot drinks, as well as a bar serving alcoholic and soft beverages throughout the day.
There is plenty of free parking available close to the house, though visitors should note that access is via stairs, making it unsuitable for wheelchair users.
For those looking to make a full day of it, Wildwood Devon, located right next door, offers a chance to explore woodland paths, adventure play areas, and view resident animals including wolves and bears.
The wildlife park is open until 5pm, with the last entry at 4pm.
The Artisan Spring Showcase will take place on Saturday, March 29, from 10am to 3pm at Escot House, Escot Estate, EX11 1LU.
With a fantastic selection of talented exhibitors and a beautiful setting, this new fair promises to be a highlight of the East Devon events calendar. Whether you’re looking for a unique gift or simply want to browse and support local independent makers, it’s an event not to be missed.
