Disruption on major route for seven days

Disruption on major route for seven days

Essential resurfacing and drainage improvements will be carried out on the A376 Exmouth Road, from the Winslade Junction to the Clyst St George roundabout, next month (March).

Overnight road closures will be needed for resurfacing on weekday evenings from 7pm until 6am, starting on the evening of Monday 10 March.

The scheme is scheduled for completion on Friday 21 March, although work on the roundabout is expected to be complete by Friday 14 March. Every effort will be made to re-open the road before 6am each morning where possible and safe to do so.

During the daytime, a southbound lane closure will be in place (from Clyst St Mary heading to Clyst St George) between 6am and 7pm while drainage work is undertaken on weekdays from Monday 10 March to Friday 21 March.

The road will be fully open at weekends.

During the overnight closures, from Monday 10 March to Friday 14 March a signed diversion will be in place via the A3052, B3180 (Hulham Road), to Exeter Road A376 and vice versa.

From Monday 17 March to Friday 21 March, when the Clyst St George roundabout is due to be open, the diversion during the overnight closures will be a shorter route via the A3052, B3180, B3179 Woodbury Road.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles at all times. However, residents who live within the closure area may experience short delays before being able to access their properties.
