Members of Exeter Round Table paid a visit to Exeter Food Action’s Marsh Barton premises yesterday to see the impact of their latest charitable contribution.
The group has funded a much-needed new floor for the charity’s walk-in chiller, helping to improve food storage and distribution for vulnerable people across the city.
Exeter Food Action works to reduce food waste by rescuing surplus stock from supermarkets, wholesalers, and producers.
Instead of going to landfill, the food is redistributed to local charities, food banks, and community groups, ensuring those in need have access to nutritious meals.
A representative from Exeter Food Action said: “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Exeter Round Table. Their funding has enabled us to improve our storage facilities, ensuring that we can continue to safely store and distribute food to those who need it most.”
Exeter Round Table is a social and charitable organisation for men aged 18-45, offering opportunities to make a difference in the community while building lifelong friendships.
The group regularly takes on fundraising projects and community initiatives, and they are always keen to welcome new members.
