Drivers in Exeter are being urged to plan ahead following a road traffic collision (RTC) at Sandygate roundabout and a scheduled overnight closure on Bridge Road.

The RTC, which occurred earlier today, has caused lane blockages on the approach to the services. Drivers are advised to find alternative routes where possible and to exercise caution when navigating the junction.

Meanwhile, Bridge Road, a key route across the city, will be closed from 7.30pm this evening (Tuesday 18 February) until approximately 3am on Wednesday 19 February for essential bridge testing.

The closure is expected to impact traffic between Countess Wear and Matford, with diversions in place during the works.

A spokesperson for the city’s highways team said: “We appreciate drivers' patience while these necessary tests are carried out. We advise allowing extra time for journeys and planning alternative routes.”
