The Polar Express returns to Devon

Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas? Well, if you're already daydreaming about twinkling lights and the scent of mulled wine in the air, we say it's never too early.

The Polar Express™ Tram Ride is returning to Seaton Tramway this November and December, and it’s the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit long before December hits.

This 2.5-hour experience offers families the chance to hop aboard a specially decorated tram and embark on a journey to the North Pole, without needing to leave Devon!

All passengers are encouraged to board in their comfiest pyjamas, ready for a cosy adventure. Along the way, you'll enjoy hot chocolate and cookies while taking in the festive lights that make the journey feel like a Christmas story come to life.

At the North Pole, you’ll get off the tram and be greeted by Santa's elves in their workshop, where the fun continues. Kids can test their standing on the naughty or nice list with the naughty detector. Of course, the highlight of the trip is meeting Santa himself, who will personally hand each passenger the first gift of Christmas - a Silver Sleigh Bell.

The journey doesn’t end when you return to Seaton. On the way back, families can sing along to Christmas carols, adding even more magic to the festive experience.

This year’s Polar Express™ Tram Ride will run from 28 November to 24 December 2025. Prices start at £29.95, which includes the round trip, hot chocolate, a cookie, and the Silver Sleigh Bell.
