Exeter Northcott Theatre is seeking a choreographer to join the creative team for its upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Martin Berry.

The role involves collaborating with the director, a professional cast of five performers, and a community ensemble of 15 young people to develop the choreographic and movement elements of the show.

Rehearsals for the ensemble will take place weekly from the week of April 3, with the professional cast joining full-time from June 2.

The choreography is expected to draw inspiration from rock, pop, and contemporary styles, moving away from traditional theatrical forms such as tap and ballet.

Applicants should have strong experience in choreography and working with young dancers, as well as a meaningful connection to the South West of England through birth, education, or family ties.

The fee for the role is £3,000, plus reasonable expenses. Applications close at 12pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

Candidates are asked to submit written or video/audio responses to two questions via the Exeter Northcott website, along with a CV and any relevant supporting material.

Interviews will take place during the week of February 24. For informal inquiries, contact Martin Berry at m.berry@exeter.ac.uk.
