Devon Air Ambulance seek volunteers

Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) is calling on locals to lend their time and expertise to support the charity at its warehouse in Marsh Barton, Exeter.

The charity, which operates 22 high street shops and a thriving online platform through eBay and Shopdaat.org, relies on its warehouse to process and prepare donations for sale.

DAA is looking for keen helpers who can put their interests and knowledge to use. Whether that is a passion for items such as books, jewellery, watches, stamps, gaming, vinyl records, or anyone with an eye for detail who can help photograph donated goods.

Pete Vallance, Head of Business Development at Devon Air Ambulance, explained the importance of these roles: “It’s important that we understand the value of every donation and want to make sure we do our best in raising the maximum amount possible to keep our crews responding across the county. If anyone out there has a real passion for these specific things, we would love to take advantage of their knowledge.

“We appreciate any time you can spare, and it does not have to be on a regular basis. This is a great flexible opportunity to join DAA and make some new friends.”

Volunteers play a crucial role in maximising the income generated from unique and valuable items donated by the public. Many of these items achieve higher prices when sold online, helping to fund the charity’s lifesaving missions across Devon and beyond.

Whether you’re looking to try something new in 2025, expand your skill set, or meet new people, volunteering with DAA offers a rewarding way to give back to the community.
