Cowick Street in Exeter remains closed to eastbound traffic due to emergency fault repair works by the National Grid, which began on January 17.

The closure, affecting inbound traffic from the junction with Cowick Lane, is expected to continue indefinitely as crews work to resolve a critical power infrastructure issue. Congestion is expected.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid disruption. Alternative routes for eastbound traffic include St Thomas Road and Exeter Road, with diversions in place to direct vehicles around the closure.

Local authorities are working closely with the National Grid to manage traffic flow and reduce the impact on commuters and local businesses.

Further updates will be issued as repairs progress.
