Exeter’s cultural scene will be shaken up once again this Saturday, January 18th, as Noche Latina returns to the Daily Bowl Café. From 8pm to 11pm, the relaxed live music event will offer a vibrant evening of Latin rhythms, perfect for anyone looking to add some spice to their weekend.

The event features performances by Lumi Centurión and Flor da Pele, who will bring a fusion of traditional and contemporary Latin music to the stage. Whether you’re ready to grab a maraca, sing along, or simply enjoy the musical diversity, Noche Latina promises an evening of fun and cultural celebration for all.

As you immerse yourself in the sounds of Latin America, make sure to enjoy a selection of drinks available for purchase, including refreshing margaritas, mojitos, wine, beer, cider, and cold beverages to keep the energy high throughout the night.

Doors open at 8pm at Daily Bowl Café, conveniently located at Exeter Central Station. It’s an ideal setting for a laid-back yet lively evening that captures the essence of Latin culture.

However, Noche Latina may be more poignant this year, as Daily Bowl faces an uncertain future. National Rail, their landlord, has announced that it will be reclaiming the space at the end of this month to make room for the relocation and expansion of ticket barriers at Exeter Central Station.

This project, backed by a £2.5 million budget from Great Western Railway (GWR), is aimed at improving passenger safety and easing congestion on the stairs and bridge during peak hours.

Unfortunately, Daily Bowl's lease was unexpectedly terminated to accommodate these GWR improvements, leaving the café and event space in a challenging position. Despite searching for a new location that meets their needs and budget, they have not yet found a suitable alternative.

In an Instagram post, the team behind Daily Bowl shared the personal impact of the eviction: "As a small business, with just two years of operation, this eviction has been a real blow - impacting our café, our wonderful team, and our future here in Exeter."

With the increasing costs of rent and business rates, like many businesses, Daily Bowl is facing a difficult road ahead. Despite the challenges, they remain committed to providing community-driven events like Noche Latina, offering a space for locals to connect and enjoy the diversity Exeter has to offer.

Don’t miss out on this special evening. Come support Daily Bowl and enjoy a memorable night of live music, culture, and community before their time at Exeter Central Station comes to an end.
