Motorists are advised to expect delays following a road traffic collision on Bridge Road (westbound) in Exeter. The incident occurred just off the Countess Wear Roundabout.

Drivers are being urged to find alternative routes where possible to avoid congestion in the area. Authorities are on the scene, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Here are some alternative routes depending on your destination:

A379 via Topsham Road: If you're heading towards the city centre or further north, consider using Topsham Road (A3015). This route bypasses Bridge Road and connects to the city centre and other main roads.

Exeter Outer Bypass (A30/A38):For longer journeys, use the A30 or A38 to bypass Exeter entirely. Both routes connect to major destinations around the city.

Exminster and Alphington: If travelling to the west of Exeter, consider routing through Exminster and Alphington using local roads to rejoin main routes such as the A30 or A377.

Sandy Park/Old Rydon Lane: For local traffic, Old Rydon Lane near Sandy Park can serve as a useful connector to avoid the blocked section of Bridge Road.

These routes may experience increased traffic due to the closure, so plan extra time for your journey.
