Get ready for an evening of soaring harmonies and heartfelt community spirit!

The Lympstone Military Wives Choir invites you to their ‘Falling Leaves Rising Voices’ concert on Saturday November 23rd 2024 at Holy Trinity Church in Exmouth. The performance starts at 7.30pm, and it promises to be an unforgettable night of music, with a little something for everyone.

Expect a diverse program that ranges from the timeless classics of Gustav Holst and Cole Porter to the iconic sounds of Vera Lynn and Snow Patrol.

The choir will also perform pieces specially written or arranged for the Military Wives Choirs, making this concert a unique and personal experience. There may even be a chance for you to join in the fun with some audience participation!

The choir is thrilled to be singing in the beautiful Holy Trinity Church, and with the musical direction of Rachel Smith and piano accompaniment by Sam Nickels, the night is sure to resonate with warmth and energy.

Tickets are £12 for adults, £10 for seniors, and £5 for children. You can purchase them in advance by emailing lympstone@militarywiveschoirs.org or get them on the door. Don’t forget to bring some change for the raffle and to enjoy interval refreshments.

Susan Lacey, the choir’s secretary and event organiser, shares her excitement: “The choir is excited to be singing in the beautiful Holy Trinity Church on Saturday. We have a varied programme, with, we hope, something for everyone. Proceeds from the concert will help the choir continue to bring together, through singing, women whose lives are currently impacted by their military connection.”

Josephine Burlingham, Choir Co-Lead, adds, “Saturday's concert will be the culmination of weeks of learning new songs, revisiting some core repertoire especially written for or arranged for the Military Wives Choirs, and, of course, lots of tea and cake to sustain us during rehearsals.”

The Lympstone Military Wives Choir, formed in 2011, is one of over 70 choirs across the UK and internationally, providing a supportive community for women whose lives are impacted by military connections. The choir’s work is life-changing for its members, offering a space to connect, sing, and form lasting friendships, all while improving mental and physical well-being.

So, whether you’re looking for a magical night of music, eager to support a great cause, or just craving a fun night out, this concert is a must-see!

New members are always welcome. Rehearsals, with lots of tea and cake, take place every Wednesday from 5.30-7.30pm at the Gordon Messenger Centre.
