King Charles III is reportedly planning a visit to the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) in Lympstone today.

While timings remain unconfirmed, local sources suggest His Majesty may spend time with recruits and staff at the centre, which holds a special place in his personal history.

The visit would not only mark a celebration of his 75th birthday, but a return to the site where the King trained in 1974 while preparing to become a helicopter pilot.

This experience gave him a unique insight into the demanding life of a Royal Marine and forged a lasting connection to the Armed Forces.

This alleged visit also reflects the King’s ongoing ties to the Armed Forces as Captain General of the Royal Marines, a role he assumed in 2022.

Honouring Lympstone’s legacy as a world-class training ground and celebrating its vital role in shaping the future of this elite force, the visit would serve as a meaningful way for King Charles III to reflect on his own history with the Royal Marines while inspiring and connecting with the next generation of recruits.
