Firefighters are at the scene
Firefighters are tackling a huge blaze on an Exeter industrial estate this evening.
Flames could be see from the surrounding area as they illuminated the night sky.
The fire is broke out in an industrial unit on Marsh Barton, near Sainsbury's.
Last night a Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We have five fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a water bowser in attendance at a large incident in the area.
"We request that people in the area keep windows closed and stay away from the area."
In an update just after midnight, the spokesperson added: "Crews have been making steady progress extinguishing the fire and preventing it from spreading to further areas within the site.
"Crews have used two ground monitors and the aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire. Crews also used one foam branch to assist.
"On-site personnel are assisting our crews in extinguishing the fire by using a debris handling machine to move the pile to allow crews access to deep seated hotspots."
At 4.40am firefighters announced they had extinguished the blaze.
