Turning up the heat on men’s health

RGB staff are celebrating Movember

The Exeter branch of RGB Building Supplies is hosting a curry evening at a local restaurant as part of its “The Best Mate Curry Date” initiative to raise awareness of men’s health. In support of the Movember movement, the evening aims to highlight the issue of suicide rates within the construction industry, which are among the highest of any UK sector.

Betweennow and Saturday 23rd November, visitors who spend over £100 at RGB will receive a scratch card as part of the initiative. By revealing three matching chillies, they’ll win a ticket for themselves and a friend to attend the curry evening.

Anyone visiting the branch during the campaign can donate to the Movember cause and receive a fun furry stick-on moustache. Staff members who go above and beyond in their fundraising efforts will be crowned “Curry King/Queen” and attend the evening.

Paul West, Branch Manager at RGB Building Supplies in Exeter, said: “Spending time with friends is essential, and we want to offer members of our community the chance to have a ‘mo-ment’ on us by downing tools, enjoying great food, connecting with their mates and focusing on their wellbeing.

“At the heart of this campaign is a message of solidarity and support for the health and wellbeing of our visitors and staff in our predominantly male-driven industry. With construction workers being at such a high risk for mental health issues, we hope to spark meaningful conversations. We’re proud to stand behind this cause and do our part in promoting a healthy work-life balance.”

For further information or to donate to RGB’s Movember campaign, visit the Exeter branch, located on Alphinbrook Road.
