Sustainability event will encourage everyone to do more

Princesshay’s Our Place stalls will return

Princesshay is set to host a sustainability themed event on Friday 20th September as part of its We Can Do More month.

Princesshay will collaborate with other local organisations to engage and inform visitors of the many environmentally conscious services and projects on offer across Exeter.

Hannah Overton, Princesshay Marketing and Commercial Manager said, “The event is a celebration of what we can all do to live more sustainably, and how, when we work together, we can make a difference. Princesshay is committed to helping tackle the global climate and biodiversity crisis by creating greener, healthier and more sustainable places.”

As part of the event, students from Exeter College’s Art and Design faculty will perform a catwalk show at 12.30pm displaying creations made from recycled paper and plastic. Stagecoach will be onsite promoting their sustainable travel options and Exeter Leisure will highlight the facilities at the nearby St Sidwell’s Point, the first Passivhaus leisure facility in the UK.

Princesshay’s Our Place stalls together with larger exhibitions will feature Curious Crumbs vegan bakes, Origin Africa ethically sourced, sustainably made clothing, Sassy Upcycling eco jewellery, Sails and Canvas recycled sailcloth bags and accessories and Princesshay honey harvested from the rooftop hives in the centre, with all honey sales going to Princesshay’s Charity of the Year, Exeter Leukaemia Fund.

The event is part of We Can Do More month designed to put a spotlight on sustainability and inspire others to make small steps that make a positive difference to the future of our planet.
