Voters have returned a Labour MP
Labour has successfully held onto its Exeter seat after Ben Bradshaw, who has served since 1997, announced he would not seek re-election.
Steve Race will be the city's new representativein Parliament after securing 45.3 per cent of the vote.
Mr Race expressed gratitude to the voters and committed to continuing Labour's legacy in Exeter. He acknowledged Ben Bradshaw's long service and vowed to build on his achievements.
He added: "This victory is a testament to the trust and support of the people of Exeter. I am honored to represent this constituency and will work tirelessly to make our community a better place for everyone."
The full list of the other candidates was: Will Aczel (Liberal Democrats), Andrew Bell (Green Party), Lee Bunker (Reform UK), William Poulter (Independent), Robert Spain (Independent), and Tessa Tucker (Conservative Party).
