Devon Hotel roundabout improvements complete

The Devon Hotel roundabout

The upgrade of the Devon Hotel roundabout has been completed as part of the ongoing infrastructure improvements in south west Exeter.

Capacity has been increased on the western arm of the roundabout, with an additional lane entering the roundabout.

The central island has also been realigned, and traffic signals and a signal-controlled pedestrian crossing have been installed.

The improvements are part of the ongoing £55 million infrastructure enhancements, funded by the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund, to support the development of 2,500 new homes and employment land on the edge of the city.

Work is also continuing on the A379 Trood Lane junction which is being widened and realigned to provide access to housing development. This includes the installation of footpaths, bus laybys and a pedestrian crossing.

A number of overnight closures will be needed at the Trood Lane junction to carry out resurfacing and lining. Timings of these overnight closures are still to be confirmed but work on the junction is due to be completed towards the end of the summer.
