The Rose Terrace Garden at Powderham
Powderham Castle is offering a huge discount on Sunday May 19 with £1 admission tickets in support of Mental Health Awareness Week.
Research suggests that doing movement in a ‘green’ outdoor environment has greater positive effects on our well being compared to doing activity indoors. Powderham Castle offers the opportunity to explore the stunning outdoors and connect with nature. Take time to wander through the castle grounds and enjoy some unusual daily experiences such as goat walks and pony grooming*.
One of the most important things you can do to help protect your mental health is regular exercise. Moving more can increase your energy, reduce stress and anxiety, and boost your self-esteem. While interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure.
Powderham Castle considers mental health a priority all year round, every Thursdays and Sundays, the Castle opens for quiet hour, for visitors who would prefer to visit the Castle in a less bright and calmer environment. Book your slot on Thursdays or Sundays from 2pm – 3pm via the website.
All the family are welcome, including dogs. Accessible mobility scooter available on request, visit the website for more information.
Opening times: 10am -4pm daily. Visitors are encouraged to book online in advance to avoid missing out.
