This October, St Nicholas Priory will open its doors for a rare after-hours experience, offering visitors the chance to explore Exeter’s oldest building under the cover of darkness.

An Audience with a Ghost Hunter is an immersive experience presented by Devon-based company Wandering Tiger, who have built a reputation for their innovative site-specific performances.

Ghost hunter, Dr Robin Knapman, will take you on a journey through the haunted halls and hidden chambers of St Nicholas Priory, a mediaeval building in central Exeter founded in 1087 by William the Conqueror.

As you progress deeper into the building and hear tales of restless spirits and unexplained phenomena, you will encounter sounds and sights that pull you deeper into the story.

Director Luke Jeffery said: “This is our spookiest production yet. With nearly a thousand years of history, St Nicholas Priory isn’t just a venue but a character in its own right. It’s the perfect setting for those who love a good ghost story. Expect plenty of scares and surprises!”

An Audience with a Ghost Hunter opens on Thursday, 24 October, and runs until 3 November, with performances at 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Full price tickets are £17.50, while students and under 25s can attend for £16.

Spaces are limited, so you are encouraged to book your tickets early.
