Exeter Airport named one of UK's top airports

Exeter Airport has been recognised as one of the best airports in the UK for customer experience, earning a prestigious 'Recommended Provider' status from consumer champion Which?. 

This accolade places Exeter Airport among the top five airports in the country, with a customer satisfaction score of 77 per cent.

The recognition comes from Which?'s annual survey of nearly 5,000 members, who rated their experiences across 11 categories, including seating, staff, cleanliness, and queue times at various checkpoints. 

Exeter Airport's impressive ranking places it fourth overall, just behind its sister airport, Norwich Airport (78 per cent), with Liverpool John Lennon Airport taking the top spot (81 per cent).

Exeter Airport has seen significant growth, with passenger numbers rising by 8 per cent in the year to March, totalling 435,000 passengers across 25 domestic and international routes. This growth is set to continue with new routes, including Ryanair's service to Palma, Majorca, and TUI's plan to base a second aircraft at Exeter next summer, adding 80,000 seats.

Some of the most popular destinations from Exeter Airport include the British Isles, with flights to Belfast, Edinburgh, and Jersey; Mediterranean hotspots like Alicante, Faro, and Lanzarote; and Greek islands such as Corfu, Rhodes, and Crete. 

New additions to the schedule include TUI’s service to Ibiza and Ryanair’s flights to Majorca.

Beyond passenger services, Exeter Airport plays a crucial role in the local economy, employing 275 people and supporting numerous jobs. 

It also supports pilot training, military operations, and pioneering research into sustainable aviation.
