City youngsters up for the cup

The U23 Cup will be a brilliant opportunity for youngsters

Exeter City have announced that the club has entered into the Premier League U23 Cup for 2024/25, with City drawn against Bristol City, Bromley and Norwich City in the group stages.

The competition will see the teams play each twice – home and away – with the top two progressing into the round of 16 stage.

It is the first time the club has played in the competition since the 2021/22 season, when it faced Swansea City, West Ham United and Wolves, where we finished third in the group.

“It will be absolutely brilliant for our younger players, the level of the games,” manager Gary Caldwell said.

“We will play the games at St James Park and will create a good fixture list for the younger players, alongside the Bristol Street Motors games where we play the youngsters.
“From now until Christmas they will have a good level of games that will keep their development going in the right direction.”

The group stages schedule is still to be confirmed, but we shall communicate in due course.
