Exeter residents are being invited to share their opinions on local polling arrangements as the City Council undertakes a review of its polling districts and stations.
This statutory review, required every five years under the Representation of the People Act 1983, will assess the suitability of current polling locations across the city.
The last comprehensive review occurred in 2019, with a minor interim review conducted in 2022.
The consultation period, open from August 12 to September 27, welcomes input from residents, organisations, and individuals with expertise in accessibility.
Those interested in contributing their views on the current polling arrangements are encouraged to submit their feedback in writing to Jeff Chalk at the Electoral Services Office or via email at electoral.services@exeter.gov.uk by the closing date.
The Council will consider all submissions and publish the Acting Returning Officer’s recommendations before finalizing the proposals, which are expected to be released in December 2024.
