Exeter City Board seek to reassure fans

Exeter City's board has issued a statement

Exeter City's Board has issued a statement following the club's latest run of poor results.

The Grecians are currently one point above the relegation zone in League One after their latest 3-0 defeat away against Fleetwood, who are in the bottom four.

Despite a poor run of results the board said they will have 'correct support he requires'.

The statement read:

Following the recent run of poor results, we want to update you regarding the actions taken by the club to improve our league position.

Firstly, we must acknowledge the unbelievable backing the team receives from supporters, particularly during this difficult period. We are all incredibly grateful.

As a club we are committed to playing football at the highest sustainable level, which must be at the heart of our decision-making.

We believe the success of our club is a shared responsibility and we are in constant communication with Gary Caldwell to ensure he has the correct support he requires as we move through this challenging period.

On a practical note, investment in the playing squad in the January window is high on the agenda of this week’s club board meeting and our desire would be to increase our financial commitment, subject to appropriate checks and balances. More information will follow the meeting.

Thank you again for your continued support.
