Richard has Va Va Vroom!

Richard has been chosen as a driver for the 2024 European Classic F3 Championship

A former Exeter choirboy turned daredevil driver is hoping he has found the formula for success on the race track.

Richard Mitchell has been chosen as a driver for the 2024 European Classic F3 Championship.

The 31-year-old brings a wealth of racing experience, having originally clinched victory in the fiercely contested 2015 Historic Formula Ford Championship during his rookie season.

Richard grew up in Exeter and sang as a chorister at Exeter Cathedral from 2002 to 2006.

He went to Cathedral School where he was (and still is) heavily involved in the music scene in Exeter which led to his current job at Buckfast Abbey singing for the Benedicine Monks and in the nationally acclaimed Abbey Choir.

In another link to the city, Richard’s father, Nigel, owns Topsham’s award-winning Galley Restaurant which is run and managed by his brother, Patrick.

Before his racing career, Richard worked in a local garage and completed his apprenticeship at Exeter College.
