The St James Park pitch has been covered
There will be a pitch inspection today (Friday, January 19) ahead of Saturday’s scheduled match against Cambridge United at St James Park.
The pitch has been covered since Monday, but with temperatures falling to as low as minus 7 over the last couple of nights, and with Cambridge having to travel a significant distance, the EFL have confirmed that it is in everyone’s interest to hold an early pitch inspection to assess the conditions ahead of the 3pm kick-off on Saturday.
The inspection is planned for 2pm and the club will provide supporters with an update as soon as possible after.
