Caldwell : "We need to play with belief!"

Exeter City boss Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as the Grecians head to Blackpool today (Saturday January 13) looking to continue a positive run of form.

After a 2-1 win over Carlisle United last Saturday, which meant it was seven points from 12 since Christmas, the squad are full of confidence and hope to replicate recent performances.

"Something we are speaking about as a group is about being prepared for what is coming," Gary said.

"I've been to a couple of (Blackpool) games, as has Perks (coach David Perkins), given we're up north sometimes and they have a clear identity when they are at home. They have a home crowd who expects to win games and they have the best home record in the league.

"We have to know as a group what it takes to win in these big games. You have to suffer and you have to have period where you're not dominant and you have to stand up in those moments. But you also have to play with personality and with a belief in what we are doing, and know that there will be moments when we are on top.

"Winning away from home is not just about turning up and playing the opposition of the park, it's about a lot of different aspects and if we get those right I believe we can win the game."
