New Director steps aboard at Exeter Chamber

Peter Knight has joined the Exeter Chamber board

Exeter Chamber has appointed Peter Knight to its board to lead on transport. Peter is the managing director of Stagecoach South West, steering a team of more than 1,000 staff.

Peter is an advocate for partnership working between the private and public sector, to develop better outcomes for all. Peter moved to the South West from Stagecoach’s subsidiary in North East Scotland in December 2022.  Having led the service through the pandemic, Peter brings with him a wealth of leadership experience in challenging times.

Peter said: “I am looking forward to working more closely with businesses across the city, to represent their views and strive for improvements in the city’s infrastructure. Sustainability will continue to be a core focus and collaborative working is key to reach our goals.”

The Exeter Chamber board is made up of 13 professionals representing key industries including tourism, hospitality, health, education, finance, media, legal, manufacturing, skills, property and science and technology. Each board director is an ambitious leader in their field, and the team works together to achieve a thriving economy for Exeter.

Steve Gates, chair of Exeter Chamber commented: “We welcome Peter to the Chamber board.  Peter brings a huge amount of experience and knowledge to the Chamber, with strong knowledge of the city’s infrastructure and valuable insights from other regions. We look forward to working with Peter and continuing to develop our voice on the future of transport for the city.”

As the leading independent business membership organisation, Exeter Chamber continues to connect businesses and build knowledge through its well-established series of events.
