Two million visits to city leisure centre

St Sidwell’s Point has recorded two million visits

Exeter’s newest leisure centre – St Sidwell’s Point (SSP) – is celebrating after achieving two million visits in just 18 months.

Fitness fan Chaz Tootill, of Polsloe, Exeter, clocked up the milestone and was rewarded with three months of free membership.

“I was shocked when they told me. I couldn’t believe it!” he told Exeter Leisure staff.

Chaz has only been a member at St Sidwell’s Point for three and a half months. He visits early in the mornings and uses the gym equipment.

“I’m a full-time carer, so I don’t really get out much. My wife suggested I start using the gym and I found it helped my mental health a lot. I started losing a lot of weight as well," he added.

“Everywhere is nice and clean and new and everyone is friendly at the leisure centre."
