Dissatisfied with what was on the market, cold water fan Gavin Teague took the plunge and set up his own company which has now become a world-leading brand.

With his background in product design and a strong passion for health and wellbeing, Gavin initially ventured into the world of massage guns, after spotting a gap for affordable high-end devices, that were smaller than a builders drill!

He launched the Lumi MiniPRO, a lightweight mini massager that has been described  as ‘the Apple of massage guns with its designer feel’. 

He subsequently launched the LUMI Therapy Portable Recovery Pod Ice Bath which delivers ice cold therapy to people’s homes.

It’s a fully-portable insulated pod, with a redesigned skin incorporating five layers of thermal insulated TPE protection that keeps the water at a steady temperature.

It also includes the Lumi Thermo insulated Lid as standard, designed to add a thermal bridge between the ice bath water and the external elements.

After long-term testing with several consumers who use regular tap water in the Lumi Therapy Portable Recovery Pod Ice Bath, the team found out that there’s no need to add ice in the pod, as they would receive the benefits of cold water therapy at a steady water temperature of 15 C or below when set up outside.

From Exeter start-up, the brand is now a leader in cold water therapy and fitness recovery and ships its products all over the world.
