Two Chiefs in line for Player of the Month Award

Two Chiefs in line for Player of the Month Award

Two Chiefs players have been named in the four-man shortlist for Gallagher’s October Player of the Month.

Veteran centre Henry Slade and young back row Greg Fisilau have both impressed the nominating panel who have shortlisted them alongside Bath Rugby scrum-half Ben Spencer and Gloucester back-row Zach Mercer.

Fans can vote for their winner at the link here.

Slade has been a Chief since 2012, now with over 200 appearances to his name. This season he has featured in three Premiership Rugby Cup matches and all three Premiership opening rounds. The back has a total of two tries, 24 conversions and one penalty on his scoresheet across both competitions as well.

Fisilau is one of a number of youngsters Rob Baxter has vying for selection in the back row this season. Featuring in three games in this season’s new look Cup competition, Fisilau has also garnered attention in his three starts in the Premiership. Scoring three tries across the Cup and league will not have dented his selection chances either.

Chiefs will take on Bristol Bears at Sandy Park this Sunday, November 5 at 3pm in round four of the Premiership.
