Discover the magic of Christmas at Princesshay
Discover the magic of Christmas at Princesshay this year with a brand-new festive lights display.
The new illuminations will come to life on Thursday November 16, switched on by Worldbeaters Music act SPARK! who will officially start the countdown to Christmas.
Visitors to Princesshay will be able to explore the spectacular lights across the centre including magical Angel Wings next to the city’s historic Roman Wall, Santa’s Sleigh, perfect for festive family moments, and a giant Christmas Tree in Princesshay Square.
This lighting scheme will be the centre’s greenest ever, made from 601.4kgs recycled aluminium, 1,719 recycled bottles and featuring 91,871 ultra-LED bulbs.
Michelle Menezes, Princesshay Centre Manager, said: "Christmas is always our favourite time of year, and turning on the lights is always a special occasion, helping customers, staff and visitors to get into the magical feeling of Christmas. This year’s incredible lights and displays are even more special as they are our most sustainable yet, and combined with the new festive bar and market, provide the perfect backdrop for visiting our 60 shops and restaurants."
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a new festive pop-up bar in Princesshay Square, providing the perfect pit stop with a selection of hot and cold drinks on offer. The bar will open from November 16 in partnership with Barnova Events.
Princesshay will also host a Christmas Market in collaboration with Markets In Exeter between November 16 until December 23 with an ever-changing line up of independent local traders offering gifts, fashion, accessorises, homewares, bakes and more.
Thursday late-night shopping returns from November 16 with most shops in Princesshay open until 8pm.
