Thankfully rugby shirts have evolved from the 1800’s - and are no longer made from wool the 'technical' fabric of the day
 
The modern rugby shirt we now recognise was made from heavy gauge cotton and worked far better on and off the pitch
 
Exeter Chiefs has introduced a new range of heritage rugby shirts for the 23/24 season.

They are made from heavyweight cotton fabric with a herringbone tape trim, vented hem and ribbed cuffs.
