Exeter has been named in a list of the UK service stations with the most electric vehicle chargers.
With furious EV drivers resorting to waking in the middle of the night to charge their cars, experts have revealed the service stations with the most chargers, where you won’t have to fight for a charging point.
The study, conducted by electric vehicle experts at DriveElectric, reviewed UK service stations to reveal the best, and worst for EV drivers.
Exeter Services, on the M5, has the most chargers. There are a whopping 28 electric vehicle chargers at this service station, including 12 ultra-rapid chargers and 16 Tesla superchargers.
In second place is Rugby Services, with 24 electric vehicle chargers. Situated on the M6, the services has 12 ultra-rapid chargers and 12 Tesla chargers. The services is also one of the cheapest places to charge a car, at just £0.52/kWh to use the chargers at Rugby’s Moto services.
Hilton Park Services, located in Staffordshire, has the third most electric vehicle chargers. The service station has 21 chargers.
The study also found that:
* The cheapest station for electric vehicle charging is Scotch Corner, at just £0.50/kWh
* The average cost of charging across all the service stations in the study is £0.62/kWh, making it around 12p cheaper per kWh on average to use the chargers at Scotch Corner services
*The most expensive service station for electric vehicle charging is Sarn Park, at £0.76/kWh
* The service stations with the most shops are Tebay and Gloucester, which have 6 shops each
