One of the eco pop up stalls in Princesshay
Small traders were given the opportunity to set up shop for a day in Princesshay as part of the shopping centre's We Can Do More campaign.
Businesses with a proven ethical ethos were invited to take Our Place stalls outside the former Debenham's building.
Among those trading on the day were Crumbs vegan bakes, Sassy Upcycling eco jewellery, Bird Eyewear and SeaSurf eco-friendly beach clothes.
A spokesperson for Princesshay said: "Sustainability is a key focus for Princesshay and its landlords. It’s not tokenistic but rather integral to business strategy and planning as we move forward, change and evolve to meet Exeter’s NetZero 2030 goal."
Also taking part in the event were:
· Exeter College featuring work from the Art & Design faculty on display and a catwalk (shows at 11.30am & 1.30pm)
· Global City Futures promoting The Exeter Sustainability Awards
· Exeter Leisure showcasing the facilities at the nearby St Sidwell’s Point, the first Passivhaus leisure facility in the UK
· RSPB
· Stagecoach South West
· Tesla
· Ride on Cycling are offering free Dr Bike checks
· Second hand fashion from RSPCA Little Valley
The Princesshay spokesperson added: "Regardless of who we are, where we live, and what we do, we all have a moral obligation to each other, our future generations, and other species to sustain the planet. Our present choices and actions have huge long-term impacts.
"This campaign is a declaration of togetherness! We all care, none of us are perfect, but together we can all do more!"
As part of the campaign, Princesshay is hosting its second Exeter Sustainability Awards working with key partners from across the city.
